is built to last 30 years.

From compact plunge pools in San Jose courtyards to infinity-edge feature pools on the Guanacaste coast. Reinforced concrete shell, full mechanical system, and finished to the same standard as the house it belongs to.

What is included

Every pool includes this. No exceptions.

Structural shell

Reinforced concrete block with steel rebar, waterproofing membrane, and hydraulic plaster. Engineered for Costa Rica seismic and humidity conditions.

Machine room

Enclosed, weatherproof equipment room with pump, filter, chlorinator or salt cell, skimmer connections, timer, and chemical storage space.

Plumbing and electrical

Full system of PVC pipes, returns, skimmers, main drain, and dedicated electrical circuit with GFCI protection. Done to code.

Coping and pool edge

Finished coping in your chosen material: travertine, porcelain, natural stone, or concrete. The edge between pool and deck done properly.

Interior finish

Glass mosaic tile, porcelain tile, natural stone, or hydraulic plaster in your color. Applied to walls and floor.

Startup and handover

Mechanical systems

The system makes the pool.

The shell is what you see. The mechanical system is what you live with. Choose a base treatment system and add solar heating or smart automation on top. Everything is quoted separately so you know exactly what each part costs.

Recommended for CR coast

Saline System

A salt chlorinator converts ordinary salt into chlorine automatically. Softer water, lower ongoing costs, and the system we recommend for all coastal properties across Guanacaste and Puntarenas.

Advantages

  • +Skin-friendly, no chemical odor
  • +Automatic chlorine generation
  • +Lower long-term chemical costs
  • +Ideal for salty coastal environments
  • +Water feels noticeably softer

Considerations

  • -Higher upfront cost than standard
  • -Salt cell requires replacement every 3 to 5 years
  • -Needs compatible metallic fittings

Included in this system

Salt chlorinator cell and controllerVariable-speed pumpMulti-media filterSalt test kit50kg salt startup supply

Best for

All coastal properties. Strongly recommended for Guanacaste, Puntarenas, and Limon projects.

The machine room

What is behind every pool we build.

The machine room is the part most pool builders leave as an afterthought. We design it from the start: properly enclosed, accessible for maintenance, sized for the equipment, and built to protect that equipment from the humidity and salinity of the Costa Rica environment.

Circulation pump

Variable or single speed, sized to the pool volume. Runs on a timer for energy efficiency.

Filtration system

Sand filter, multi-media filter, or cartridge depending on the system and pool size. Rated for the water volume.

Chlorinator or salt cell

Automatic dosing unit. Salt systems include the electrolytic cell and controller. Chlorine systems include an erosion feeder.

Skimmer system

Surface skimmers connected to the pump intake. Removes floating debris before it sinks.

Returns and jets

Water return jets installed at the correct positions for circulation. Optional massage jets on plunge pools and spas.

Timer and controller

Schedules pump run time. Smart systems include app-based control and real-time alerts.

Pre-filter basket

Inline strainer basket before the pump. Protects the impeller from leaves and debris.

Chemical storage

Dedicated shelving and containment in the machine room for safe, organized chemical storage.

The process

From lot to water in six steps.

01

Site visit and design

We visit the lot, take measurements, review the terrain and sun orientation, and sit down with you to define the shape, size, finish, and system. You leave with a clear design direction and a price range.

02

Engineering and permits

We prepare structural drawings for the shell, the machine room, and the electrical and plumbing connections. Permit requirements vary by municipality. We manage the process.

03

Excavation

Dig to the correct depth and dimensions. On sloped terrain we include retaining wall engineering in this phase. The excavated material is removed from the site.

04

Shell construction

Reinforced concrete block structure with steel rebar, waterproofing membrane, and hydraulic plaster coat. This is what makes a pool last 30 years without structural issues.

05

Finishes and decking

Tile, coping, and pool deck installation. We work with porcelain, glass mosaic, natural stone, travertine, concrete, and smooth plaster. The deck is poured and finished at the same time.

06

Equipment and startup

Machine room installation, pump and filter startup, chemical balance, and water fill. We hand over with the water balanced, the system running, and a maintenance guide in your hands.

Pools and Viva

Building a Viva home? The pool is part of it.

From the Amethyst Home tier upward, the pool is integrated into the floor plan and quoted as part of the Viva project. No separate contractor, no coordination problems, no surprises when the house is done and the pool has to fit in whatever is left of the yard. We design both together from day one.
